Project 365

I found this interesting WordPress article the other day.  I’m sure if you are a WordPress user you would have seen it by now as it was featured in one of the update emails.  For those who don’t want to read it, I’ll summarize below.

Project 365 challenges us to find something to blog about each day.  In a way I suppose it is very much like Post-a-Day and Post-a-Week, however I believe those challenges are over or soon to be over.  So, for every day in 2012 we should try to make a post each day regarding a topic we are interested in.  Oh wait… one thing to mention is that since 2012 is a Leap Year, we should technically be making 366 posts this year, right?

Well, either way, I am going to try and join this challenge.  I can cheat by making multiple posts another day if I cannot make them all in the same day, right?

Since the challenge was only sort of put out there, but without any rules, I am going to say that since I know how hard it can be to make a post each and every day (especially if you work full-time, have family, travel, etc.),  I think it should be allowable to make up missed posts on another day as long as they are done within the same month.  So each month should have an equal number of posts to how many days it has.

I also think that in order to truly make this unique, all content that is posted should have a personal connection to the author.  For example, don’t rehash something that you found someplace else unless you are doing something such as giving your personal views on it.  Make sense?

To show my support for this, I decided to make some small support banners.  Please feel free to save them and post them on your blogs too.  I would appreciate a link back or for you to link it to the original Project 365 blog post in order to spread the word about it.

I might have to clean these up later, I really only like the first two small ones.  Call me a picky designer!

So in the spirit of the new year, I am getting started.  One of the important parts of the Project 365 explanation was that each blogger should choose a single focus and apply that to their blog.  Unfortunately mine has 2 focuses, beauty and wellness.  So in that case, I will be trying to make posts about at least one of these topics each day.

Watch out for this blog to truly start on New Years!

Happy New Year Everyone!!!!!!!
